A human society: The Gells are a mostly chaotic people, with no particular tendency toward good or evil. Historically they have been small groups of often warring tribes, and they are renowned for their battle prowess and insane bravery. Within the last 15 years, they were united under a single strong CN leader, who has grandiose plans for conquest. He has completely united their continent, with a few exceptions, (small rebellions here and there, they are chaotic after all, and a few cities which simply would not fall. One which belongs to the drow, and is able to be resupplied through portals, and another of hobgoblins which is resupplied by sea. Rather than continue to throw warriors at the walls, peace treaties have been signed with these two cities, but if the high chieftan sees an opportunity, he will happily break them.) At the current time a major war against the hobgoblin empire is in the works. Their main problem is a lack of warriors trained with naval warfare.
Many Gells are rangers, fighters, or berzerks. Very few learn the art of wizardry, and while a fair number of sorcerers are born to them, training those skills is usually discouraged, as it is considered cowardly. Those with sorcerous talent often simply disregard it, or turn to the bardic profession, which is at least respected, if not as honourable as the warrior. Druids and Shamans can command some respect, but not honor. Toughness is prized very highly among them, as well as fearlessness.
